HUNTER SCHAFER LETS A VAMPIRE DETAIL SLIP
A24’s mysterious horror project starring Hunter Schafer now has a sharper identity. Speaking at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 17, Schafer revealed that she filmed a vampire movie earlier this year and described it as potentially her favorite filming experience.
Her enthusiasm extended to the performances: Schafer said the production gave her and her fellow actresses room to embrace its wild material. She stopped short of revealing whether her own character is a vampire. That distinction leaves plenty of room for speculation, but no confirmed answer about who will be doing the biting.
Original announcement: October 17, 2026, during the gala interview; the Academy Museum’s X video post was published at approximately 11:12 p.m. EDT, as calculated from its post identifier.

THE PROJECT BEHIND THE TEASE
Schafer’s reference to an untitled A24 project points to the previously reported film from The First Omen director Arkasha Stevenson. Stevenson co-wrote that project with Tim Smith, with Ari Aster attached as an executive producer through Square Peg. Earlier reporting described a bachelor party descending into terror.
Those production details predate this edition. The new development is Schafer identifying her filmed project as a vampire movie. Her interview supplies no title, release date or trailer, and it does not establish how the vampires fit into the reported premise.

EDITORIAL VERIFICATION NOTE
This short edition contains one qualifying development. Other leads traced to older announcements or lacked reliable original dates. All requested organizations received search or access attempts, but several official sites and YouTube channels were blocked, throttled or unreadable, including Amazon MGM’s newsroom and channels for ALTER, BlackBoxTV, Chroma, Cosmic Films, GrimmVision, RestroFilms and Indie Games Hub. The Academy’s social video pages also resisted direct retrieval; the interview is corroborated by contemporaneous reporting. This is not a claim of complete source access.
