About The Krypt

THE KRYPT
Everything Horror. One Krypt.
For the fans who live for the scream. For the creators who make it happen. For everyone who has ever felt at home in the dark.
Horror has always lived in the shadows.
In dusty little shops filled with strange treasures. In abandoned buildings with stories that refuse to die. In midnight movie screenings, haunted attractions, independent films, and the imaginations of people who see something beautiful in the terrifying.
It’s in the practical effects artist spending sleepless nights bringing a monster to life. The filmmaker scraping together enough money to shoot one more scene. The writer filling notebooks with nightmares. The collector hunting for that one impossible-to-find piece. And the fan who would rather spend a Saturday night exploring a haunted location than doing just about anything else.
Horror isn’t just something we watch.
It’s something we experience. Something we create. Something we belong to.
Yet for a community this passionate, everything has always felt scattered.
One website for haunted places. Another for conventions. Somewhere else for horror news. A dozen social platforms for independent creators. Countless talented people making incredible things, hoping someone will notice.
Finding what you love shouldn’t feel like searching through the dark without a flashlight.
And creating something you love shouldn’t mean doing it alone.
That’s why The Krypt was born.
⸻
ONE HOME. EVERY NIGHTMARE.
Our mission is ambitious, but the idea behind it is simple:
Everything Horror. One Krypt.
The Krypt is being built as a home for horror and Halloween culture — a place where fans can discover what they love, creators can showcase what they make, and businesses can connect with the people who are looking for them.
And you don’t need an account just to explore.
Explore The Krypt Today
Krypt Maps takes horror beyond the screen. Discover haunted locations, filming sites, oddity shops, horror attractions, creepy landmarks, and strange destinations worth exploring.
Krypt Events helps you find your next unforgettable experience, from haunted houses and ghost tours to film screenings, festivals, conventions, and family-friendly Halloween adventures.
Krypt Wire brings horror news, original features, discoveries, and stories from across the genre together in one place.
Krypt TV gives independent horror and trailers a place to be discovered, with live programming and more ways to watch.
Keepers shines a light on the people behind the nightmares — filmmakers, actors, writers, artists, cosplayers, musicians, builders, performers, and the countless creative minds who make horror possible.
Krypt Shop helps fans discover horror-related products, retailers, artists, and businesses, connecting them with places to buy the things they love.
And when you need a break from exploring the darkness, there’s Krypt Arcade, where original horror-inspired games offer a different kind of nightmare.
These aren’t meant to be disconnected corners of a website.
They’re pieces of something much bigger.
A world where discovering horror is only the beginning.
⸻
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE MONSTERS
Horror has never belonged exclusively to Hollywood.
Some of the most imaginative, unsettling, unforgettable things in this genre come from people working out of bedrooms, garages, basements, tiny studios, and borrowed locations.
People with limited budgets and unlimited imagination.
People who work all day and create all night.
People who have something incredible to show the world but don’t always have the connections, resources, or audience to make it happen.
We believe those people deserve to be discovered.
That’s why we created Keepers.
Anyone 18 or older can create a free Keeper profile — a personal home inside The Krypt to showcase their projects, highlight their talents, share their work, and open the door to new opportunities.
Whether you’re an aspiring filmmaker, a special effects artist, an author, a cosplayer, a horror podcaster, or someone with a creative obsession that doesn’t fit neatly into a category, there’s room for you here.
You don’t need a famous name.
You don’t need a massive following.
You just need something worth bringing out of the shadows.
And while anyone can explore The Krypt, creating a Crow, Keeper, or business account is reserved for adults 18 and older.
⸻
FROM THE FIRST IDEA TO THE FINAL SCREAM
Here’s where our vision gets bigger.
Imagine joining The Krypt as an unknown filmmaker.
You create a Keeper profile and upload your work. A makeup artist discovers your project. An actor reaches out. You find a location through Krypt Maps, connect with other creators, and begin making something together.
Your film gets finished.
You submit it to a festival. You attend horror events. People begin recognizing your work. Your audience grows.
One day, you launch your own production company, open a horror shop, or turn your creative passion into a business.
And the community that helped you get started is still right there.
From “I just joined” to “I made a movie here, did events, and opened my own shop.”
That’s not a side note.
That’s part of the design.
Some of those connections are already possible through the tools available today. Others are part of what we’re working toward.
We’re not pretending every piece exists yet.
We’re building toward it, one piece at a time.
⸻
THE NEXT CHAPTER IS ALREADY BEING WRITTEN
The Krypt is still growing, and there’s a lot more waiting in the darkness.
Our future plans include Krypt Archives, a growing discovery library for horror and Halloween-inspired movies and television, with information about where to watch, rent, or catch them in theaters.
Krypt Flicks will bring short-form vertical video into the experience, while podcast discovery and Krypt Podcast will give horror voices another place to be heard.
We envision an online horror film festival inside Krypt TV, giving independent filmmakers another opportunity to reach audiences.
Expanded Pro tools will help Keepers and businesses showcase their work, understand their audiences, and grow their presence.
We’re also planning deeper connections between Krypt Shop, Where to Buy, and Krypt Maps, bringing online discovery and real-world destinations closer together.
And eventually, The Krypt Network — a private, backstage-style space where creators and businesses can connect, collaborate, hire, and build projects together.
These are plans, not promises of immediate availability. Some will take longer than others, and we’ll grow them responsibly as the platform develops.
Because the goal isn’t to launch a hundred disconnected features.
The goal is to build something that actually matters to the horror community.
⸻
OUR MISSION
The Krypt exists to bring the scattered world of horror together.
To help fans find the places, films, stories, creators, businesses, and experiences they didn’t even know they were looking for.
To give independent creators a place to be seen.
To help small businesses reach the people who appreciate what they do.
To turn discovery into opportunity, opportunity into collaboration, and collaboration into something that might never have existed otherwise.
We want to celebrate the legends who built this genre while making room for the next generation of people brave enough to create something new.
Because horror isn’t just about fear.
It’s about imagination. Art. Community. Expression. And the thrill of discovering something you never knew existed.
From the first profile to the finished film. From the local haunt to the lasting business.
This is where horror lives, grows, and refuses to stay buried.

MEET THE FOUNDER
I’m Jonas Valle.
I’m a father, a lifelong horror fan, a storyteller, and the person behind The Krypt.
Like a lot of horror fans, my fascination started young. I loved the feeling of being scared, but even more than that, I loved the imagination behind it.
The monsters. The masks. The makeup. The special effects. The way someone could take an idea that existed only in their head and turn it into something that made an entire room scream.
As I got older, that fascination turned into a desire to create my own stories and films.
And the more I explored that world, the more I realized how many talented people were out there trying to do the same thing.
People making incredible work without huge budgets, industry connections, or marketing teams.
I started wondering what it would look like if there were one place where all of us could find each other.
Not just another horror news site.
Not just another directory.
Not another platform where independent creators disappear beneath the biggest names.
But a place that connects the fans, the artists, the filmmakers, the shops, the events, and the experiences that make this community special.
That’s what I’m trying to build.
I’m building The Krypt around a regular job, family life, and all the responsibilities that come with both. It isn’t backed by some giant Hollywood studio.
It’s being built by someone who genuinely loves horror and believes there’s room for something better.
And I know I can’t build the entire vision alone.
That’s the point.
The Krypt was never supposed to be about one person.
It’s supposed to become a place where an entire community can find something worth being part of.
If you’ve ever made something terrifying, dreamed of making something terrifying, or simply loved the people who do, I hope you’ll find a home here.
And if you’re discovering The Krypt for the first time, welcome.
There’s plenty more to come.
