The Krypt — Terms of Service

Draft — pending owner and legal approval. Revision 2, prepared October 27, 2026 (replaces draft version 2026-10-draft-1). Effective date: set on the day of approved publication. This draft is not yet in effect and may change.

1. Welcome to The Krypt

The Krypt is a horror discovery and community platform connecting fans, creators, businesses, destinations, events, entertainment, and shopping resources.

The platform includes Krypt Maps, Events, Trails, Keepers, Krypt Wire, Krypt TV, Nightmare Radar, Where to Buy, Shop discovery, Scythe Lists, Arcade, and other features as they become available.

By creating an account, users agree to these Terms of Service and The Krypt Code. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

Some features may have additional terms presented when used.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • Members must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Guests may browse publicly accessible content without registering. Some content may be unsuitable for younger audiences.
  • Members must provide accurate account information, protect their login credentials, and avoid impersonation or unauthorized account access.
  • One person has one account. Every account is a Krypt Crow; Keeper or Business Owner tools are added to that same account.
  • The Krypt offers free Crow, Keeper, and Business Owner capabilities, subject to applicable eligibility and approval requirements.
  • Confirming your age is a statement you make to us; The Krypt does not perform formal identity verification.
  • Account verification and business verification are not guarantees of identity, qualifications, trustworthiness, or professional performance.

3. Horror destinations, Maps, and Events

The Krypt provides discovery information about real-world destinations and events, including haunted attractions, filming locations, cemeteries, historic sites, ghost tours, retailers, restaurants, conventions, and screenings. Information may change without notice.

Members and visitors are responsible for verifying:

  • Hours and operating status
  • Tickets and reservations
  • Prices and event schedules
  • Accessibility and age restrictions
  • Property access and permissions
  • Current safety conditions

A listing, map pin, Trail, or navigation link does not grant permission to enter a property. Trespassing, vandalism, entering restricted structures, disturbing graves, or violating property boundaries are prohibited.

Some private or restricted locations are represented only by approximate public map locations to protect property owners and visitors. Do not attempt to expose or circumvent protected location information.

Paranormal accounts, folklore, and haunting descriptions are presented for discovery and entertainment, not as verified supernatural claims.

4. Krypt Trails

  • Krypt Trails allows members to build, save, share, follow, and customize horror-related itineraries.
  • Depending on the available feature controls, Trails may be private, unlisted, or public. Public Trails may appear in discovery and may be shared or embedded. Unlisted links may be forwarded by anyone who possesses them.
  • Members should avoid placing private addresses, confidential information, or sensitive personal schedules in shared Trails.
  • Following a Trail does not reserve tickets, provide admission, or grant access to any destination.
  • Copy & Customize creates a separate itinerary. Members may adapt route and stop information through the feature but may not claim ownership of another creator's original photographs, videos, branding, or substantial editorial work.
  • Public Trails and proposed revisions may be reviewed, restricted, or removed for safety, accuracy, intellectual-property, or privacy concerns.
  • Official Krypt Trails are created or published by The Krypt. Official status does not imply endorsement by a film studio, property owner, or venue.
  • Trail distances, routes, schedules, and suggested stops are planning aids, not guarantees of safety or travel accuracy.
  • Saved Trails stay in your account unless you share or publish them. The Privacy Policy explains what sharing includes.

5. Content ownership and permissions

  • Members retain ownership of their original work.
  • By intentionally submitting content for public publication, members grant The Krypt a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to host, display, format, distribute, and promote that public content as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the service.
  • This public-content permission does not authorize The Krypt to publish private messages, confidential business verification evidence, private Trails, or unpublished personal notes as promotional material.
  • Members must have the rights and permissions required to upload or submit their content. Members must not submit stolen artwork, unauthorized photographs, misleading credits, or infringing media.
  • Removal of content may not erase copies already lawfully obtained by other users or independently retained records that The Krypt is legally permitted to maintain.
  • Copyright complaints: if you believe content infringes your rights, contact us at [Contact email to be provided by The Krypt's owner] with the content's link, the work you own, and your contact details. Photos uploaded by visitors to a listing can also be removed with their one-time removal code. Copyright complaints and counter-notices will be handled according to applicable law and the copyright procedures The Krypt has established. [Before publication: owner and legal counsel to confirm the copyright procedure and designated contact.]
  • The Krypt's own branding, design and original content belong to The Krypt.

6. Krypt Keepers

  • Keepers may maintain creator profiles, portfolios, specialties, external links, and collaboration or commission information.
  • Keepers are responsible for accurately representing their work, credits, availability, and professional services.
  • The Krypt does not guarantee employment, commissions, collaborations, payment, or project outcomes. Independent arrangements between creators and customers are their responsibility unless The Krypt expressly becomes a contracting party.
  • Verification badges indicate a limited platform review, not a professional license, background check, or endorsement.
  • Private messages must follow The Krypt Code. Message limits apply to prevent spam.

7. Business Owners

  • Business claiming is available only to owners or authorized representatives. Claims may require evidence and administrative approval. Signing up as a business does not grant access by itself.
  • Business representatives must provide accurate listing information, including hours, prices, events, offers, contact information, and external links.
  • An approved business claim does not transfer ownership of The Krypt's independent editorial listings or grant a right to suppress lawful criticism.
  • The Krypt may retain factual listings, investigate disputes, request corrections, and restrict management access where appropriate.
  • Paid memberships, when available, will not guarantee verification, favorable reviews, bookings, or editorial recommendations.

8. Krypt Wire, Krypt TV, and external media

  • Krypt Wire includes original editorial content and references to third-party horror publishers.
  • Krypt TV may feature externally hosted films, trailers, and other media. The original rights holders retain ownership of their work. External content may become unavailable or change independently of The Krypt.
  • Submitting a film or media link does not guarantee selection or transfer ownership of the work. Creators must have permission to submit content for review or presentation.

9. Shop, Where to Buy, and Scythe Lists

  • The Krypt provides horror shopping discovery and links to independent retailers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchases occur on external websites.
  • External sellers are responsible for their own checkout, payment processing, inventory, shipping, returns, refunds, and fulfillment.
  • The Krypt does not guarantee product availability, pricing, delivery, or seller performance.
  • Where sponsorships, advertising relationships, or affiliate commissions exist, appropriate disclosures must appear alongside the relevant content.

Scythe Lists

  • Members may create and share wishlists and allow others to reserve items according to the available visibility settings.
  • A reservation indicates an intention to purchase. It is not an order, payment, completed purchase, or guarantee of delivery.
  • Purchases must be completed separately through the relevant retailer.
  • Shared-list visibility, reservation identities, cancellation controls, and notifications are governed by the actual feature behavior and the Privacy Policy.

10. Arcade and virtual coins

  • The Krypt Arcade includes horror-themed games and virtual progress or coin features. Signed-in members earn and spend virtual coins kept in their Coin Casket; guest play is not saved to an account. Coins come from gameplay and in-app rewards and are not sold.
  • Virtual coins are not paid Pro memberships, cash, cryptocurrency, or transferable financial assets, have no monetary value, and cannot be exchanged, sold, transferred or redeemed for money.
  • Any prize, including the Krypt Slots merchandise jackpot, is limited by its published rules (for example, one merchandise award per account per rolling 12 months). Any real-world prize promotion must have appropriate rules and disclosures before it is represented as available. [Before publication: owner and legal counsel to confirm the Krypt Slots merchandise jackpot and its official rules; existing awards are preserved.]
  • We may correct balances affected by errors or abuse. Deleting your account forfeits coins and pending prizes.

11. Free and future paid memberships

  • Crow, Keeper, and Business Owner accounts are free to create.
  • Paid Pro subscriptions are not yet active. Approved future monthly prices are:
    • Keeper Pro: $2.99 per month for the first 12 monthly billing cycles for qualifying subscribers, then $6.99 per month.
    • Business Pro: $9.99 per month for the first 12 monthly billing cycles for qualifying subscribers, then $17.99 per month.
  • These prices describe planned offerings, not active subscriptions or authorization to charge members. Annual pricing, bundle pricing, and the introductory enrollment cutoff have not been finalized.
  • No payment, automatic renewal, or subscription begins through free registration or waitlist enrollment.
  • Before billing launches, The Krypt will publish finalized subscription terms addressing consent, renewal, cancellation, refunds, payment failures, and applicable legal notices.

12. Community enforcement

  • Members must follow The Krypt Code.
  • You can report content and messages, and block other members in your inbox.
  • The Krypt may review reports, restrict content, remove listings, suspend accounts, or take other proportionate enforcement actions for violations.
  • The Krypt does not promise that every submission is reviewed before publication or that reports receive an immediate response.
  • You can delete your account from My Account. Some records may stay where needed to prevent abuse or repeat rewards (see the Privacy Policy). Listings you submitted or managed remain on The Krypt.
  • Members may request reconsideration of a decision by contacting us at [Contact email to be provided by The Krypt's owner].

13. Third-party services and service availability

  • The Krypt may link to mapping services, media hosts, ticket providers, sellers, and other independent services. Those services operate under their own terms and policies.
  • The Krypt may change, suspend, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and any binding commitments. The service may have errors or interruptions.
  • The service is provided subject to the limitations and protections permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms removes nonwaivable consumer rights or excuses The Krypt's own unlawful conduct.
  • Liability: [Before publication: liability limitations to be finalized with legal counsel.]
  • Governing law and disputes: [Before publication: governing law and dispute provisions to be set by the owner with legal counsel.]

14. Changes and contact

  • Material changes to these Terms will be identified through updated version and effective-date information, with additional notice or agreement where required.
  • Operator: Jonas Valle, operating The Krypt individually.
  • Contact: [Contact email to be provided by The Krypt's owner]
