The Boulet Brothers unveil season seven, Michael Myers takes up the scythe, and Idris Elba trades the vacuum of space for an ocean grave. In Los Angeles, Sinners opens a different kind of portal: a museum exhibition built around the music of Club Juke.
Coverage window: October 20, 2026, noon–October 21, 2026, noon EDT.
Dragula’s new trailer puts the monsters back in the spotlight
The lights come up. The creatures step forward. The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula has released its official season-seven trailer, opening the next chapter of a competition where building a monster is only the beginning.
The new trailer premiered on the Boulet Brothers’ own channel on October 20 at 1:00:09 p.m. EDT. The season arrives Tuesday, October 27, exclusively on Shudder and AMC+. That premiere date was announced in September; the trailer is the new development in this window.
Twelve artists are listed in the official trailer description: Annie Agurl, Areal Haunting, DVVSK, Felony Dodger, Inkubus, Koochie-Koochie Ku, Krustyna Clown, Purus, Samuel Bendix, Satanna, Scythe and Vanda LaRose. Their work spans costume construction, makeup, special effects, performance and craftsmanship.
For its tenth-anniversary season, Shudder says the series will draw on the tactile horror of 1980s and ’90s VHS cinema. Its previously announced guest lineup includes Rose McGowan, Doug Jones, David Dastmalchian, Harvey Guillén, Rachel True and Lloyd Kaufman. The trailer offers a new entry point before the competition begins; it does not make the September premiere announcement new again.

Michael Myers sharpens the Halloween 5 connection
One weapon can summon an entire nightmare. IllFonic’s latest Halloween: The Game video puts the scythe at the center of its Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers reveal.
The developer published its own Scythe Reveal on October 20 at 1:00:04 p.m. EDT. It is a separate video from the civilian-costume preview covered previously, so this is a material addition rather than another pass through yesterday’s costumes.
The official upload ties the reveal to Tower Farm. Its description does not establish an individual price or separate purchase terms, so those details remain unconfirmed here. Watch the official IllFonic reveal below.

Above the Below leaves three astronauts nowhere to breathe
Surviving the fall is only the first escape. Lionsgate’s new Above the Below trailer introduces three astronauts who make it through a disaster in space, only to crash into the ocean and become trapped beneath its surface.
Lionsgate Movies published the official trailer on October 20 at 12:00:03 p.m. EDT, three seconds inside this roundup’s window. Idris Elba, Caitlin FitzGerald and Hero Fiennes Tiffin star, with Elba and Martin Owen directing. Lionsgate dates the U.S. theatrical release for December 4, 2026.
The studio’s premise puts the crew beyond contact with mission control, with their oxygen supply failing and escape demanding increasingly dangerous choices. The pressure comes from a place more immediate than the unknown reaches of space: a sealed capsule, deep water and a shrinking number of breaths.

Sinners carries Club Juke into the museum
In Sinners, music makes a room larger than its walls. A new exhibition at the California African American Museum follows that idea through the physical objects left behind by the film.
Sinners: Sounds That Summon opened October 20 and runs through March 14, 2027, according to the museum. The opening is the development covered here; the museum page does not supply the original announcement’s publication time. Its regular Tuesday opening is 10 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. EDT, within this coverage window.
The exhibition centers on the guitar used by Sammie “Preacher Boy” Moore, bringing together costumes, objects and archival material to explore the film’s Club Juke sequence and the movement of Black music across generations. Imani Y. Haynes curates the exhibition, co-organized by the museum and Warner Bros. Archives.
CAAM also lists a curatorial walkthrough on October 27, 2–3 p.m. Pacific / 5–6 p.m. EDT, and a Design Hive program on October 31, 2–3:30 p.m. Pacific / 5–6:30 p.m. EDT. The museum is at 600 State Drive, Exposition Park, Los Angeles. Check the official program listings for participation details before attending.

Fangoria brings its Telluride trivia night home
The horror crowd can survive a screening and still be undone by a question about The Thing. Fangoria has published Brian W. Collins’ account of its own trivia event at Telluride Horror Show, including a winter-horror question round readers can try themselves.
The report was published October 21 at 11:00:42 a.m. EDT. Collins describes hosting with Meredith Borders and the challenge of matching the questions to a room full of festivalgoers. This is a newly published account of an already completed event, not a new festival announcement or an invitation to a future session.
