The Shining

Jack Torrance accepts a winter caretaking job at the isolated Overlook Hotel and brings his wife Wendy and son Danny with him. Danny’s psychic sensitivity makes the building’s disturbing history impossible to ignore, while isolation intensifies the strain on the family. Stanley Kubrick turns vast empty rooms and repeating corridors into an oppressive landscape of supernatural dread and domestic menace.
