Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

A barber returns to London consumed by the injustice that destroyed his family and finds an ally in pie-shop owner Mrs. Lovett. Their partnership draws revenge, commerce and murder into a grisly arrangement. Tim Burton adapts Stephen Sondheim’s musical thriller as a darkly theatrical horror story, balancing bitter humor and operatic emotion with the macabre possibilities of a razor and a city’s appetite.
